the “small death” I have always craved — the denial of self, the longing to self-sacrifice — once led me spiraling to darkness. misplaced over-giving harms the giver, harms the taker.
now I give day and night, work to save nothing for myself, and yet I receive in surplus.
the lesson of proper sacrifice was not easy for me but I am finally listening daily for that small voice.
